Chinah – “Minds”
Chinah - "Minds"
Danish trio Chinah employ a gamut of customary synth-pop sounds like pitch-tweaked vocals, clicky beats, sparse guitar lines, and cascading synth melodies, but they channel all of it into mellow heartbreak. The rhythm behind Fine Glindvad’s singing resembles that of modern R&B, which adds a dash of spice to their gushy sound. Their latest song, “Minds,” reverberates with uncertainty and yearning, matching their last two impressive singles, “Away From Me” and “We Go Back,” but with new ornaments. Near the end, Glindvad sings, “But you never seem to make up your mind boy/ But you never seem to make up your mind, your mind,” over a sudden outpouring of synths, bringing the track’s overall tension to new heights.
