Dr. Dre – “Naked” (Feat. Marsha Ambrosius & Sly Piper)
Dr. Dre just came back this summer with Compton, a comeback album that was honestly much stronger than anything we had a right to expect. There are very, very few people who were making rap music in the ’80s and who still sound vital today. Dre beat the odds with that one. Of course, Compton was his first album in 16 years, which means he left plenty on the cutting-room floor. And this weekend on his Beats 1 Radio show, Dre debuted one of the songs that didn’t make it onto Compton. “Naked” is a streaked, claustrophobic track that features the former Floetry singer (and frequent Dre collaborator) Marsha Ambrosius and the generally unknown Sly Piper. It’s a song about stripping, but it’s impossible to imagine anyone stripping to it. Listen to a radio rip below, via The FADER.
Compton is out now on Aftermath/Interscope.
