Watch Jeezy Perform, Give James Corden A Rap Name On The Late Late Show
James Corden’s Late Late Show is pretty far down the late-night TV rankings, but that can be a good time, since it means Corden gets to slavishly giggle over things that musical guests say; it’s not just reserved for actors and comedians. On last night’s episode, he gave a royal treatment to Atlanta rap king Jeezy, who just released his Church In These Streets album. On the show, Corden interviewed Jeezy (while standing by a bar for some reason), and Jeezy gave Corden a rap name (without the slightest bit of hesitation) and clowned him for not knowing what Chuck Taylors are. He also performed his recent Janelle Monaé collab “Sweet Life” (sadly without Monaé’s help). It’s the first time I’ve seen Jeezy perform with a live band instead of just bellowing along with his own records, so maybe he really isn’t young anymore. Watch the interview and the performance below.
Church In These Streets is out now on Def Jam.
