Drone-metal wizards Sunn O))) are releasing Kannon in a few weeks, their first non-collaborative LP since 2009. Sunn O)))’s Stephen O’Malley took over Stuart Maconie’s Freak Zone on BBC Radio 6 today, playing an eclectic mix of music from Julia Holter to Bölzer, and he took the opportunity to premiere a new Sunn O))) track, “Kannon 2.” You can hear an excerpt here and listen to the whole thing over on the BBC’s website — “Kannon 2″ begins around the 58:45 mark.

Kannon is out 12/4 on Southern Lord, with a few clear vinyl copies going on sale 11/27 for Record Store Day’s Black Friday.
