Jaill – “Port Of Call” (Stereogum Premiere)
Over the summer we heard “Got An F” and “Getaway” from Jaill’s Burger Records LP Brain Cream. Now the Wisconsin psych-pop three-piece are releasing a cassette for another esteemed American garage rock label. Jaill’s Wherever It Be cassette is coming out on JEFF The Brotherhood’s Infinity Cat Records, and it’s preceded today by a reverb-soaked neon fever dream called “Port Of Call.” The track was written, performed, and recorded by frontman Vincent Kircher in the spare bedroom of his Milwaukee home, and it feels accordingly DIY. Surf-pop vocals and hazy guitars combine to create a psychedelic sound bathed in radiant colors that shine through distorted fuzz. Listen below.
Whatever It Be is out 1/8/16 as part of the Infinity Cat Cassette Series.
