Laser are an indie-rock trio led by former Broken Social Scene member Lisa Lobsinger, and they build warm, luminous melodies with bloopy synths and gentle guitars. They emerged last year with two delectable singles, “Leaving It Too late” and “Do We All Feel It.” Now they’re leading up to the release of their debut album, Night Driver, with a third advance track, “Disconnect,” which has a radiant and underwater kind of sound. They embrace synth arpeggios in a manner reminiscent of the synth-heavy tracks on Broken Social Scene’s Forgiveness Rock Record, and Lobsinger’s poised voice is centered well within the track’s glimmering, aquatic patterns.
