Violent Femmes – “Memory”
The Violent Femmes, the Milwaukee jitter-punks who broke ground in the early ’80s with a classic self-titled debut album, have been a functioning, touring band for most of the last 15 years. They just haven’t released an album since Freak Magnet in 2000. But as we learned last year, they’ve got a new LP coming out this year, and now we know the details. It’s called We Can Do Anything, and it’s coming in March. The first single is the driving, nervous, folky “Memory,” and frontman Gordon Gano tells NPR that he wrote and demoed the song years ago. Check it out below.
We Can Do Anything is out 3/4.
