Glasgow indie rocker Martha Ffion makes some raw, emotionally savvy jams with plenty of groove to them. Her second single after signing to Turnstile is a perfect example. Ffion throws some well-intended shade at an ex and his new girl, urging him to get out of his own way to realize his potential. The pleading opening line “Come out, come out” communicates the longing and frustration that come from wanting something more for someone than they do for themselves. Guitar grooves, crashing cymbals, and heavy-handed drums build momentum at just the right moments before a nice electric guitar solo brings the energy to a climax for Ffion’s final plea.
