Watch Bruce Springsteen Cover The Eagles In Tribute To Glenn Frey
Over the weekend, we lost a ’70s classic-rock giant: The Eagles co-leader Glenn Frey, who passed away because of complications from intestinal issues. And last night, another classic-rock giant, Bruce Springsteen, played a show at Chicago’s United Center and took the opportunity to pay Frey tribute. During his show, Springsteen played a mostly-solo-acoustic cover of “Take It Easy,” the 1972 single that Frey co-wrote with Jackson Browne. (Springsteen and Browne covered the song together at a New Jersey show last September.) The song, which Springsteen played as a slow acoustic ramble, turned into a massive lighters-up singalong, and you can watch a fan-made video of it below.
The stars of the ’70s are getting old now, but let’s all agree to not think about the day when Springsteen dies, OK?
