Today Declared David Bowie Day In New York City
Today has been declared David Bowie Day in New York City, according to a new post on Bowie’s Facebook page celebrating Blackstar’s recent #1 spot on the US charts following the artist’s death last week. The official proclamation will be presented tonight at the end of the final performance of Lazarus, the Bowie-conceived musical.
Correction: The original story stated that the proclamation would be read by Mayor Bill de Blasio himself. It will not — Luis Castro, Acting Commissioner Of The Mayor’s Office Of Media And Entertainment, will present the proclamation.
