Stream Amanda Palmer & Jherek Bischoff’s David Bowie Covers EP Feat. Neil Gaiman & More
Amanda Palmer and Jherek Bischoff collaborated on a David Bowie string quartet covers EP to pay tribute to the late musician. Strung Out In Heaven will be released tomorrow, and features cameos from John Cameron Mitchell, and the writer/musician Neil Gaiman (who also happens to be Palmer’s husband). The project was financed by Palmer’s Patreon crowd-funding page and will be sold for a dollar with some of the money going to Bowie’s publisher. The rest of the first month’s proceeds will be donated to cancer research efforts at Tufts Medical Center. The entire EP is streaming now on Pitchfork, and you can hear Palmer, Bischoff, and Calvi’s rendition of “Blackstar” below.
Strung Out In Heaven will be self-released via Bandcamp on 2/5.
