Watch Conan O’Brien & Grace Potter Play A Qatar-Themed White Stripes Parody
Conan O’Brien traveled to Qatar back in November to entertain American troops stationed overseas. He filmed a special episode of his late-night show at the Al Udeid Air Base, with Grace Potter serving as his musical guest, and the two also joined together to perform a slightly different version of the White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” as a web-exclusive. Conan altered the lyrics to better reflect his new surroundings, changing the first verse to: “I flew here to Qatar/ And now I’m practicing Sharia law/ I should not play guitar/ Or shovel pork products into my jaw/ There’s no drinking and no smoking and no porn, it’s a living hell/ But who cares when you guys have got a fucking Taco Bell/ And as long as there’s free wifi, I’m never going home!” Watch below.
Conan has performed “Seven Nation Army” live once before, during a Philadelphia gig on his 2010 Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Television tour.
