PUP – “DVP” Video
PUP’s raucous new single “DVP” is one of the best and tightest tracks released so far this year, and the Toronto band have shared a clever new lyric video that uses dialogue boxes from famous video games to get their point across about emotional maturity and stunted development and all that. It’s a trip for anyone who grew up playing these games to see them flashed across the screen so quickly and with such care. “The four of us grew up in the golden-age of spastic, seizure inducing video games (see: the 90’s),” drummer Zack Mykula told Nerdist. “Our best bud Jeremy had the idea to smash together scenes from some of our favourite games in a hot pile of ADHD-insanity. Turns out that pairs really well with our music. Go figure.” Watch below.
