Purling Hiss – “My, My, My”
Philadelphia garage psych-rockers Purling Hiss have been quiet since 2014’s Weirdon, but that album was some joyful lo-fi chaos with plenty of Philly attitude, so to hear from them anytime is welcome. The band is back and ready to drop their four-track Something EP. They shared the lead single “Fumble Tumble” a week ago, and the followup comes in the form of “My, My, My.” This song is fuzz galore from start to finish. Layers on layers of wildly shoegazing guitars are only cut with a rhythmic drum pattern and stoic vocals like a dirty wedding cake. The guitars open up on this thing and never close, resulting in an onslaught that is easy to give your ears up to. Listen below.
The Something EP is out 2/19. Pre-order is available here.
