Even though Vinyl ended up not being very good, they have managed to attract some top-tier talent to round out their soundtrack. The theme song was written by Sturgill Simpson, Julian Casablancas and Aimee Mann both contributed covers, and Natalie Prass had a cameo as Karen Carpenter. For this week’s upcoming episode, Neko Case recorded a cover of “Danny’s Song,” which was written by Kenny Loggins and released by Loggins & Messina in 1971 before hitting it big the following year with a version by Anne Murray.
