Watch Lady Gaga Join Elton John At Surprise Sunset Strip Show
Yesterday, Elton John held a free surprise concert outside the site of the old Tower Records in West Hollywood, a place John frequented so often they’d open early just for him. The concert was a thank you to West Hollywood for hosting John’s charity Academy Awards Viewing Party for many years. An additional surprise came in the form of Lady Gaga joining John during his performance of “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” off his 1974 album Caribou. There’s also a live duet version of the song with George Michael, perhaps inspiring the duet with Gaga. Gaga gave John a quick smooch on the cheek before jumping into her verse. She later thanked John for his his “beautiful” 2016 record Wonderful Crazy Night and for his work with the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
And here is Gaga’s sentimental, short speech for John before his performance of “Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting).”
