Rihanna – “Work (DJDS Remix)”
DJDS, the Los Angeles underground-techno kingpins who used to be known as DJ Dodger Stadium, should be big-time by now. They did, after all, contribute production to a bunch of tracks from Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo. But they’re still down to put together an unauthorized remix for a track like Adele’s “Hello” or Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U.” And now, as Gorilla Vs. Bear points out, they’ve turned their sights on “Work,” the massive Drake collab from Rihanna’s new album ANTI. In their hands, it’s a sweeping, emotive house banger with no trace of Drake. It’s early now, but I might like this version better than the original. Listen to it below.
DJDS’s new album Stand Up And Speak is out now on Body High/Loma Vista.
