Cat’s Eyes – “Drag” Video
Cat’s Eyes formed in 2011, releasing both their debut album and EP that year. Now after five years, the UK-based chamber pop duo plans to release their sophomore record Treasure House in June. “Drag” is the second single to be released off the forthcoming album. With this, the duo explores some darker themes to go along with their dramatic, orchestral instrumentation, organized by Italian-Canadian soprano, composer and multi-instrumentalist Rachel Zeffira. At first esoteric, the song’s mantra “All the things we do when we’re together, if they ever knew, they would keep us apart” is spelled out suddenly and clearly as the duo engages in a gruesome bout of domestic violence. Contrasted by eerily calm, almost indifferent vocals, the song and video come together to create a high-impact, multifaceted, and extremely graphic storyline. Watch below.
