Margo Price – “Hands Of Time”
We made Nashville singer-songwriter Margo Price an Artist To Watch back in January, and she’a about to be the first straight-up country artist to release an album on Jack White’s Third Man label. If you need to find some sort of context for her, you can put her in the same lineage of outlaw-country revivalists like Chris Stapleton and Jamey Johnson. But her new song “Hands Of Time,” the opening track from her new album Midwest Farmer’s Daughter, should blow away all those distinctions. It’s just an absolute monster, a sad and powerful autobiographical lament with a weeping string section and a slow-strutting bassline. This song is straight-up wrecking me right now, and it might do the same to you. Give it a listen below.
Midwest Farmer’s Daughter is out 3/25 on Third Man.
