Bobby Brackins – “Indigo”
Bobby Brackins has built one of the most consistently enjoyable catalogs among the DJ Mustard-led wave of West Coast minimalists that took over the sound of rap and R&B a couple years back. He returns this week with “Indigo,” a track that turns that turns down that snapping, synth-driven ratchet sound. Even in the form of a reflective ballad, though, there’s a propulsive energy in this music, and Brackins sells his wistful lyrics about living hard and dying young. Listen below.
