SXSW 2016 Ends With Gunshots On 6th Street
Gunshots rang out in downtown Austin early this morning as SXSW drew to a close, USA Today reports. According to the Austin Police Department, the shots were fired into the air at the intersection of Sixth Street and Trinity. “Everybody just started running, screaming ‘oh my goodness,'” says witness Sean Smith, who was working as a security guard for a nearby vendor. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and the suspect was taken into custody and the gun recovered by police.
