Overenthusiastic Third Eye Blind Fan Arrested
A Third Eye Blind fan was arrested in Atlanta this past Saturday following a concert they played at Georgia Theatre. According to the Athens Banner-Herald, police reports stated that Kevin Gerald Knoblich told security “he was a fan of the band and wanted to thank them for their performance,” but when he boarded their tour bus to do so, he was slapped and punched by their manager.
Police were called to the theatre around 12:30AM after a tip about a fight in progress outside the venue, and when they arrived there was a group of people pointing at Knoblich saying “he was the problem.” The report also noted that the Atlanta resident reeked of alcohol and appeared to be drunk, and that he admitted to boarding the band’s tour bus without an invite. The band’s manager, Lucas McNees, alleges that Knoblich refused to leave after being ushered off of the bus and began yelling and cursing at the band. When McNees tried to escort him from the area the report says he shoved Lucas and the shoves escalated to slaps and punches. Knoblich was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
