Former Security Guard Sues Elton John For Sexual Harassment
The Los Angeles Times reports that Jeffrey Weninger, an LAPD officer who spent years doing off-duty security work for Elton John, is now suing the pop legend for sexual harassment and battery. Wenninger, who was awarded the LAPD Medal Of Valor in 2007, claims that John touched him inappropriately and made suggestive comments for years — between 2002 and 2014 — with those incidents “escalating in frequency and intensity after 2010.”
Wenninger is saying that John would make comments like these: “Get your todger out,” “Say hello to Uncle Elton,” “You gorgeous thing you,” and “You have so many gay genes in you, they just haven’t met up yet.” He says that he’d try to resist and that it wouldn’t do any good. Wenninger made a request to do more work for John after 2014 but was denied.
In a statment, Orin Snyder, an attorney working for John, says, “This baseless lawsuit is brought by a disgruntled former security officer seeking to extract an undeserved payment. These claims are patently untrue and contradicted by numerous previous statements made by this plaintiff. We will not give into his latest abuse of the legal system.”
