The Story So Far Singer Violently Kicks Female Audience Member Off Stage
Audience members don’t belong on stage at concerts unless the band invites them to be there, but they also don’t deserve to be kicked in the back and launched offstage by the band they paid money to see. According to Spin, that’s exactly what happened last Sunday night in Toronto. During the Story So Far’s encore at That Toronto Mod Club, frontman Parker Cannon forcefully kicked a young woman as she was trying to take a selfie on stage with the band as her background. Judging from the video footage, it was a raucous environment with a number of people jumping on and offstage, but Cannon singled out this particular woman. He snuck up from behind, planted his foot squarely in her back, and launched her face-first into the crowd. It seems like the crowd caught her based on the grainy footage, but don’t be surprised if you hear about a much-deserved lawsuit resulting from this. Watch the incident below.
In a statement, the Mod Club’s general manager, Jorge Dias, says the band is now banned from the venue:
“On behalf of the venue we are appalled by the actions of the singer of the band The Story So Far and do not condone these actions by anyone. There was no report of injuries and the venue will not allow the band to play the venue again for their actions. I have never imagined and never seen anything like that at the venue in 14 years in operation. That was a very cowardly act.”
