Jameszoo – “Flu” (Feat. Arthur Verocai)
Dutch experimental producer and Brainfeeder underling Jameszoo is set to drop his latest offering, Fool, later this spring. We’ve already heard the fantastic “Flake,” and today he follows up with another gem, “Flu.” The numerous elements and genres Jameszoo seamlessly incorporates into his soundscapes could be horribly discordant if not so artfully arranged. Warped, wandering synths, 8-bit video game sounds, jazzy percussion, Wurlitzer piano, intricate drums, standing bass, and quick flourishes on the keys are swooped together and bundled for an aesthetic that constantly evolves. It’s jazz arranged like classical music through a digital filter. He may garner many comparisons to his label head Flying Lotus, but Jameszoo is certainly singular and Fool is shaping up to be stupid good. Listen.
Fool is out 5/13 via Brainfeeder. Pre-order it here.
