theMIND – “Pale Rose” Video
The Save Money Militia is not the only crew holding things down for Chicago. Chi-Town’s up-and-coming THEMpeople collective have been doing their thing for a few years now as well. A big reason is rapper/singer inbetweener theMIND. He makes dreamy R&B with a hard rap edge with other members of the crew helping out on production and visuals. “Pale Rose” leans more electro with synth-soaked story telling, but the edge is still there through the slapping drums and contemplative, dark subject matter. The matching clip, directed by Nathan R. Smith and Sebastian Sdaigui, is a tale of three young women in NYC escaping the harsh realities of their living circumstances on their way to a house party where theMIND is performing. They twerk on the subway, dutty wine in the streets, and wreak havoc on passers-by before finally arriving at the party and escaping into theMIND’s performance. Check it out.
