Watch Sturgill Simpson Sing “Oh Sarah” On Conan
Sturgill Simpson’s excellent new album A Sailor’s Guide To Earth is a concept record. It’s structured as a letter to Simpson’s infant son, and there’s really only one song that breaks that mold. “Oh Sarah,” a ballad that shows up late on the album, is both a love song and an apology; it’s a song about fixing bridges. Since the album’s release, we’ve already posted videos of Simpson singing his songs on Colbert and on The Daily Show. And last night, he was the musical guest on Conan. This time, he sang “Oh Sarah,” sitting back on a stool, without a guitar, and hitting all those big ol’ notes. Watch the performance below.
A Sailor’s Guide To Earth is out now on Atlantic.
