Big Business – “Father’s Day”
Seattle sludge metal outfit Big Business are set to follow up 2013’s Battlefields Forever with their fifth album, Command Your Weather. The lead single is “Father’s Day,” and besides maybe being a reminder and early call to action for the appreciation day that will probably sneak up on you a month from now, it’s awesome. It’s a ferocious four minutes with interlocking headbang rhythms fluctuating up and down in energy punctuated by rolling, heavy-hitting drums. I’m pretty sure the song actually has nothing to do with Father’s Day, but I can’t quite tell because the sludge is so thick that it drowns out the vocals. Listen.
Command Your Weather is out 7/8 via Joyful Noise. Pre-order it here.
