Milemarker – “Carrboro”
The synth-damaged early-’00s postpunk warriors Milemarker never officially broke up, but it’s been 11 years since they toured or released an album. So it’s cool to see that they have rumbled back to life, planning to play venues across North America and readying their new LP Overseas for release. The lineup of the band is a new one, formed after frontman (and zine-era literary king) Al Burian and guitarist Dave Laney both moved to Germany; they’re joined by new members Lena Kilkka and Ezra Cale. But even if this is half a new band, the new song “Carrboro” will evoke powerful warehouse-show memories for listeners of a certain age. Check it out below.
Overseas is out 8/26 on Lovitt.
