Stream Mogwai Atomic
Mogwai’s tingly, vast music has always sounded a bit like film-score music, and over the past decade, they’ve really jumped into that world. Since 2006, the Scottish band has scored the arty soccer documentary Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait, the divisive Darren Aronofsky movie The Fountain, and the great French supernatural TV show Les Revenants. More recently, they’ve contributed their sound to Atomic, a BBC documentary about splitting the atom. And they’ve reworked their music for that documentary into a new album, also called Atomic. We’ve posted the album tracks “U-235,” “Ether,” and “Bitterness Centrifuge.” And right now, you can stream the whole album below, via NPR.
Atomic is out now on Rock Action/Temporary Residence.
