HALFNOISE is the moniker of ex-Paramore drummer Zac Farro’s solo project. He drummed on Paramore’s first three albums before leaving the group in 2010, and though there’s been speculation that he may be returning to the band after a picture surfaced on their Facebook page a few days ago, he’s been going strong with HALFNOISE. The two projects have completely incongruous sounds, and it’s a testament to Farro’s versatility and growth as a vocalist and writer. HALFNOISE makes shimmering, synth-soaked indie pop as opposed to Paramore’s emo aesthetic. “Know The Feeling” is taken from the forthcoming album out later this year, and it’s a bouyant, bouncy jam with Farro’s smooth tenor laced within heavy-hitting intricate drums, and glimmering synths.
