Stream Let’s Eat Grandma I, Gemini
On Friday, UK duo Let’s Eat Grandma, featuring 16-year-old Rosa Walton and 17-year-old Jenny Hollingworth, will release their debut album I, Gemini on Transgressive. Friends since age four, Walton and Hollingworth formed Let’s Eat Grandma in 2013, the project named in a rushed last-minute decision the night before their first show and based on an old joke meant to highlight the importance of a well-placed comma.
Recorded with Will Twynham (Hand Of Glory Records) in a former nuclear bunker turned analog paradise called Old School Studios in Norwich, UK, I, Gemini is an impressive, off-kilter pop album, with five of the record’s 10 tracks clocking it at over five minutes. Defying the stigma that comes with their (very) young age, Walton and Hollingworth showcase their diverse influences and widespread musical ability, with some songs relying heavy pop beats while others boast mandolin-based folk instrumentation. Check out I, Gemini in full at Apple Music.
