Big Freedia Ordered By Judge To Live In Halfway House Until Setencing
Earlier this year, New Orleans bounce artist Big Freedia pled guilty to a federal theft charge and is currently awaiting a mid-August sentencing date, when she could face up to a 10-year prison sentence and a $250,000 fine. Now, according to The New Orleans Advocate, a judge ruled on Wedneday that she must move to a halfway house that she can only leave with the permission of a probation officer and must undergo “further substance abuse evaluation” after testing positive for marijuana in April and May and positive for marijuana and methamphetamines in June during regularly-scheduled drug tests.
Big Freedia’s sentencing is scheduled for 8/11. She’s made no mention of the ruling on her social media accounts yet.
