It’s been a pretty awful week for humanity. Just a few days ago, Beyoncé issued a lengthy statement in response to the police killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, and now, she’s posted a tribute to the five police officers killed on Thursday night at a protest in Dallas. The Instagram video shows the Texan flag blowing in the wind while the names of the slain officers flash across the screen. “Rest in peace to the officers whose lives were senselessly taken yesterday in Dallas,” she writes in the caption. “I am praying for a full recovery of the seven others injured. No violence will create peace. Every human life is valuable. We must be the solution. Every human being has the right to gather in peaceful protest without suffering more unnecessary violence. To effect change we must show love in the face of hate and peace in the face of violence.” Find her tribute below.
