First Hour-Long Simpsons Will Be A Hip-Hop Great Gatsby Homage
The Simpsons will air its first-ever hour-long episode this winter, and it sounds like a doozy. As EW reports, it will be a hip-hop homage to The Great Gatsby that takes place at Mr. Burns’ summer mansion and chronicles his deteriorating friendship with a rap mogul named Jay G, while Homer is slotted into the Nick Carroway role. Jim Beanz, the music producer for Empire, wrote original songs for the episode. Taraji P. Henson will guest star as a version of her Empire character, Praline, and Keegan-Michael Key will play a rapper named Jazzy James. The episode is called “The Great Phatsby,” and it’s scheduled to air this winter.
