Watch Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, & Blake Shelton’s Overblown Aerosmith Cover
The Voice, the absurdly popular NBC singing-competition show, returns to dominate Nielsen ratings again next month. And last night, just after the Olympics closing ceremony, this year’s cast of celebrity coaches — new faces Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus alongside old warhorses Adam Levine and Blake Shelton — got together to do a big, absurd, over-the-top cover of Aerosmith’s car-radio classic “Dream On.” All four of them pulled out as many vocal pyrotechnics as they could manage, with Levine getting the big climactic screech. And whoever was in charge of the fog and the lighting did a pretty amazing job at making it all look as ’80s as possible. Below, watch the performance and behold the last gasps of a dying monoculture.
The Voice returns to NBC 9/19.
