Chris Brown Arrested After Standoff With LAPD
Chris Brown is in trouble yet again. The pop/R&B singer allegedly threatened a woman with a gun early this morning, and LAPD are trying to acquire a search warrant for his Tarzana home, according to The Los Angeles Times. LAPD officers responded to the woman’s call from Brown’s home in the 5000 block of Corbin Ave. around 3AM this morning. The woman said that Brown aimed a gun at her in a rage before she managed to run outside and call the police. Officers then tried to go into the house and were told to get a warrant.
Brown later took to Instagram to discredit the woman and her story and promote his latest single “Grass Ain’t Greener” while chastising the media and their coverage of the alleged incident, saying while holding a cigarette: “Ironic how I put a crazy video out, right, and you got a bullshit-ass story, but when I’m sitting here withering away, and it’s like ‘oh, fuck Chris Brown,’ it’s the end of the world. I don’t give a fuck. I’m not running for politics. I don’t give a fuck about your personal opinion. All y’all can suck a fart out of my ass for all I care.”
Brown maintains that he is innocent and that the story is completely fabricated. Due to the high-profile nature, the case is now being handled by the LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division. During his time living in Tarzana, Brown’s house has been robbed and he has garnered multiple complaints for riding ATVs down his street too loudly.
UPDATE: TMZ reports that the woman who called 911 is Baylee Curran. Curran says the alleged altercation happened during a hot tub party at Brown’s house when she was admiring a piece of jewelry. TMZ also reports that during the standoff Brown threw a duffel bag containing drugs and weapons out the window.
UPDATE 2: The AP reports that the standoff is over. Police have obtained a warrant for Brown’s arrest, and Brown has emerged from his home in compliance. According to LAPD Lieutenant Chris Ramirez, approximately six other people were also escorted out of the house and will be interviewed. Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos, who formerly represented Kesha in her case against Dr. Luke, is also on the scene.
UPDATE 3: TMZ reports that Brown has been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, a felony, and will be taken to the police station for processing.
