Watch Drake Bring Out Steph Curry, Draymond Green, & Kevin Durant In Oakland
Drake has a weird, quasi-appropriating connection with many cities across the US and internationally, but one of his strongest links is with the Bay Area. He’s been loosely connected with the region ever since the hyphy-indebted “The Motto” from 2011’s Take Care, in which he shouts out Oakland pioneer Mac Dre and dedicates the track to the Bay.
So despite being a team ambassador for his hometown Toronto Raptors, he has some juice in Oakland. During his two stops in Oakland on the Summer Sixteen tour at Oracle Arena, where the Golden State Warriors play, he brought out the newest (and most hated) Warrior Kevin Durant on Tuesday, and then followed that Wednesday with all-star favorites Steph Curry and Draymond Green. Aubrey rocked a crisp #35 Durant Warriors jersey as his “brother” Durant joined him onstage on 9/13. On 9/14, he welcomed Curry and Green before moving them to the back of the stage so Oakland legend Too $hort could perform his hit “Blow The Whistle” as they danced awkwardly in the background. Check out footage of Curry and Green up top via TMZ, and fan footage of Durant down bottom.
