Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Partner Loses Wrongful Death Case
Last January, Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her house in Georgia. Six months later, after spending all that time in a medically induced coma, she died. Brown’s estate filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Nick Gordon, her boyfriend. And today, Brown’s estate won the suit. As far as the civil court is concerned, then, Gordon killed Brown.
As Us Weekly reports, Brown’s estate alleges this: “Ms. Brown died due to a violent altercation with [Gordon] after which he placed her in a bathtub, unconscious, after he injected her with a toxic mixture.” Gordon has denied the claims, and he hasn’t been charged criminally. But Brown’s estate filed a $50 million suit against him. And when Gordon didn’t show up in court this morning, the judge ruled that he is legally responsible for her death. In the future, a jury will decide how much he should pay Brown’s estate in damages.
Speaking to reporters, Brown’s aunt Leolah Brown said, “It’s been a long time. They should have been gotten him. He should have been arrested. He’s ignorant; he’s arrogant. He thinks he’s above the law. He’s not.”
