Pixx – “Grip” Video
Pixx is the moniker of 19-year-old Brit Hannah Rodgers. She got a healthy buzz going after her Fall In EP last summer, and now it seems she’s gearing up to drop something a little meatier. Earlier this spring she released the one-off single “Baboo” along with a stirring visual, and today she does the same with “Grip.” The song is a playful, trap-indebted piece of pop with airy synths and intricate percussion lifting Rodgers’ gauzy vocal. As for the matching visuals, they lift her in a different way. Director James Slater uses some gravity-defying, disorienting effects to suspend the singer-songwriter in midair, flip her upside-down, and shift the balance of the room as she alluringly delivers her lyrics. Make sure your breakfast is fully digested and check it out.
“Grip” is out now on 4AD.
