Stream Neurosis Fires Within Fires
The long-running California band Neurosis pioneered a massive, gorgeous, slow-trudge form of metal, one that has become a huge presence on the metal underground in the past 15 years or so. Their sound is huge and crushing and often very pretty, and no matter how many bands they might influence, nobody will ever do it quite like them. Tomorrow, Neurosis will release Fires Within Fires, their 11th studio album and their first since 2012’s Honor Found In Decay. Up until now, all we’ve heard of the new album is a short preview of a few tracks. But today, the entire album is streaming online. It fucking rules, and you can hear the whole thing below via Noisey.
Fires Within Fires is out 9/23 on Neurot. Also, Neurosis co-leader Scott Kelly was a recent guest on Clobberin’ Time, the pro-wrestling podcast I do with Fucked Up frontman Damian Abraham. You can hear that episode of the show here.
