Kero Kero Bonito – “Trampoline”
Trailing the release of “Graduation,” Kero Kero Bonito have just shared the latest single off their upcoming new album Bonito Generation. On “Trampoline,” bilingual singer/rapper Sarah Perry turns a rainy day around with a little rebellion against gravity. “First you fall down/ Then you get back up again/ Find your rhythm, momentum is the key,” she sings, morphing a tutorial for handing a simple jumping mechanism into a synth-pop pep talk. The track is carefree and glitter-tinted, and tonally reminiscent of Aqua’s “Barbie Girl” and the Spice Girls when Perry encourages, “Even if you’re falling, OK/ There’s a trampoline waiting for you/ You just have to believe.” “Trampoline” is the perfect antithesis to the Monday Blues. Bonito Generation is out 10/21 on Double Denim Records.
