Alex Frankel – “Get Back”
Following Wednesday’s trifecta of an EP announcement, tour announcement, and track premiere, Alex Frankel of Holy Ghost! fame has dropped the second single from his imminent Negative Space EP, the nu-disco album opener “Get Back.” Unlike the Lennon-McCartney song of the same name, which uses “back” geographically, Frankel is concerned more with time; he uses an undoubtedly old-school track to bring us back to youth, before “you felt like a waste.” With a dancefloor-ready chorus, pitch-shifted vocals, and extraterrestrial bass, that isn’t a difficult task. Check it out below.
In case you missed it, here’s the Negative Space title track as well:
Negative Space is out 9/30. In other Holy Ghost! news, the band’s Last Call With Carson Daly performance of “It Gets Dark” and “Do It Again,” filmed live at the Regent Theater, will air this coming Monday 10/4 at 1:35AM ET (so technically Tuesday morning, 10/5).
