The super funky West Coast duo NxWorries, made up of the ascendant Anderson .Paak and beatsmith Knxwledge, are set to follow up last year's sleek Link Up & Suede EP with the proper full-length debut Yes Lawd!, named after .Paak's signature ad-lib. We've already heard the smooth, swinging lead single "Lyk Dis," and today, they share the followup.
"Get Bigger/Do U Luv" is more peanut butter smooth grooves. Knxwledge laces a bass-driven beat with J Dilla-esque off-time-on-purpose drums and a pretty flute flourish for .Paak lay some raspy raps over on the "Get Bigger" portion. Then the beat switches to an even funkier, jazz-inflected instrumental breakdown with .Paak singing soulfully on "Do U Luv" for about 30 seconds before a quick fadeout. It's oh so silky as we've come to expect from them. Check it out.
