Stream K A G EP A
Based on exactly one widely-available EP — 2014’s stunning Bodies And Control And Money And Power — it seems entirely safe to call Washington, DC’s Priests one of the best punk bands operating today. And while we’re still waiting on new music from that band, frontwoman Katie Alice Greer has just released a solo EP. Recording under the name K A G, she’s put together EP A, a work of lo-fi industrial postpunk that she says is “inspired by weird suburbia, formidable famous women, and the 1947 film Black Narcissus.” Greer wrote and recorded all four songs after leaving DC for its suburbs, and it sounds like the sort of nervous, bugged-out thing someone might make after moving to the burbs. Listen to it below.
EP A is out now on Priests’ Sister Polygon label, and you can get it at Bandcamp.
