Bands three albums deep into their discography are usually on the verge of veteran status, but Bonzo formed less than two years ago. The Ann Arbor post-rockers are simply evolving at such a rapid clip that new releases are necessary to document the moment. Their latest dispatch Stranger finds them applying a bedroom-pop sound and scope to aggressive basement-show rock, ultimately landing on a form of shoegaze far too energetic to involve much actual gazing at shoes.
