Prince Broke The Records For The Highest Selling Vinyl And Cassette On Discogs
Being a Prince superfan ain’t cheap. Back in April, shortly after his death, an original 1987 promo copy of the Purple One’s famed “Black Album” sold for a cool $15,000, becoming the most expensive vinyl record ever sold on Discogs. And in August, a few months later, a rare Prince release became the site’s most expensive cassette ever sold. As The Vinyl Factory reports, The Versace Experience – Prelude 2 Gold, a cassette featuring remixed versions of The Gold Experience tracks handed out to attendees of Versace’s show at the 1995 Paris Fashion Week, sold for a record-breaking $4087. Cassettes are back, people!
