The Avalanches – “Because I’m Me” Video
The Avalanches have a history of memorable videos, though they come as few and far between as their music — “Frontier Psychiatrist,” “Since I Left You” from their 2001 album, “Frankie Sinatra” and “Subways” from Wildflower — and today the Australian group has shared a great new one for joyous album opener “Because I’m Me.” It starts off with a young kid trying to impress an MTA booth attendant at a NYC subway stop, and he’s eventually joined by a bunch of horn players and dancers and Sonny Cheeba from Bronx hip-hop duo Camp Lo, who guest on the track. It was directed by Greg Brunkalla. Watch below.
Wildflower is out now via Astralwerks. Additionally, the Avalanches will reissue the long out-of-print Since I Left You on 1/27.
