Kenny Chesney Claims It’s Not What It Looks Like: “I Love Beyoncé”
Beyoncé’s performance with the Dixie Chicks at the CMAs on Wednesday night stirred up a whole lot of controversy. Some country fans were pissed off, and then the Beyhive got pissed off, and then the CMAs may or may not have removed some Beyoncé coverage to minimize the backlash, and then the Beyhive got even more pissed off. Now country star Kenny Chesney, who was honored with the Pinnacle Award at Wednesday’s ceremony, has gotten pulled into it, and the Beyhive are even more pissed off.
You see, the expression on Kenny Chesney’s face during Beyoncé’s performance was not so enthusiastic. Beyoncé fans took this as a grave insult and quickly turned his Instagram into a battleground.
But they’ve got it all wrong, Kenny Chesney says! As ABC News reports, he’s released a statement clarifying that he actually loves Beyoncé. “I love Beyonce,” he says. “I loved her Super Bowl performance, her sense of how to make the music hit really hard — and give it drama when she’s onstage.” He says that Beyoncé fans shouldn’t be so quick to judge him or presume to know what he was thinking.
