Lee Ranaldo is the latest musician to be filmed for one of La Blogothèque’s famous Take Away Shows. On 3/5 in New York, the legendary guitarist played a solo version of “Electric Trim,” a new song he’s been performing lately and the title track from his new album coming next year. As Ranaldo’s acoustic strings chimed with the kind of eerie, iridescent chords and riffs that typified his playing with Sonic Youth, he sang an array of piercing inquiries including “Are you scared of a woman’s love? Are you scared of a man’s love?” and “Are you getting the last laugh?” It’s a gorgeous performance, so watch below.
